About

Hi, I’m Siena.

I am a senior legal advisor at the Citizen Lab, which is an interdisciplinary research laboratory based at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto. I am also a lawyer (admitted to practice in Ontario and New York) and researcher with an interest in international law, human rights, technology, and migration-related issues. In my previous life, I was a refugee lawyer in Toronto, Ontario, a litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP in New York City and a clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. I also hold a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge, a B.C.L./LL.B. from McGill University, and a B.A. in journalism & anthropology from Concordia University. I love to run and travel, and sometimes I put fingers to keyboard on these subjects as well. I’m always interested in consultancy opportunities and other challenges. My CV is available here and I can be reached here.
